Friday and Saturday fun!

Happy Saturday Families!

We've had a big couple of days here. The sun finally peaked out this afternoon from the clouds and we had a nice little bit of sunshine to really dry the place out. We're anticipating the weather to get really nice and into the 80s this next week. Whewww!

Let's recap the last couple of days:

Yesterday was cloudy and cool but the campers enjoyed the last day of classes for the first week. Next week, the teachers really start prepping for the big show so campers were really encouraged to try something new before deciding what Big Show acts they wanted to be in. The lake was reopened and over 35 kids went up to swim and do wrist rockets despite the cool weather. I hear the water was still pretty nice and warm enough for a swim!

After a yummy dinner of spaghetti, roasted broccoli and organic salad, the campers prepped for the Tornado of Talent-t-t!!! Over 40 acts up went up on stage! Lots of solo songs, juggling tricks, poems and other random feats of talent!

Today the campers woke up to a very special day. It was All Nations Day - our one day in the middle of the session where the counselors perform and play through a storyline to elaborate on a theme. This session's theme was SuperHeroes and how each one of us is a superhero in our own identities. A group of superheroes landed at camp in the morning searching for their identities and through organized games at each of the sites, campers explored what identity means to them in order to help the superheroes find theirs. Afterwards, lunch was served and campers resumed back to a regular, sunny afternoon at the lake and fun activities in camp. This evening our fabulous Thanksgiving dinner - turkey with all the fixings, our evening's performance featured a short performance from Zaccho Dance Theatre's youth troop from San Francisco. They performanced a piece about identity on our aerial rig using their beautiful fence apparatus. Then we had the All Nations Fire! Each tipi presented a performance skit based around identity as an offering to the fire and then we closed the evening out with some fabulous Fire Juggling (by the experienced staff only). It's been quite a day and we're so very happy to be sharing it with this truly wonderful group of campers.

Sincerely,
Timmy
